Paramount Pictures is taking over the Bay Theatre in Pacific Palisades and plans to reopen the five-screen multiplex later this year. The return marks a meaningful step in the community’s recovery and restores a longtime gathering spot for shared cinema experiences.

It should make for an entertaining dress rehearsal in the entertainment capital of the world.
The Los Angeles region hosted the very first Super Bowl in 1967 at the Coliseum, where tickets cost just $12 and the game famously didn’t sell out. Since then, the games have been split across three iconic local venues: the Rose Bowl (5 times), the Coliseum (2 times), and SoFi Stadium (1 time). When L.A. last hosted in 2022, the hometown Rams won the championship on their own field.
