CurationsLA started in January 2023 under the name CuratedLA, a passion project and a simple local newsletter for Los Angeles. From day one it had one rule that has never changed: no politics, no policy fights, no crime, no violence, no rage bait. Just the city at its best.

Three years later, that newsletter has grown into a community. What began as a room full of readers is now a community of Curators, people who know this city and now have a way to share it, with the launch of Raven.

We believe in doing the right thing, online and off.

CurationsLA is built deliberately against the grain of the modern internet. No annoying ads. No hidden trackers. No slop. In a fast, noisy, algorithm-chasing web, we made something calmer on purpose, a place where local knowledge is treated with care and the reader always comes first.

That same belief runs through everything we publish. Curated by humans. Built to be trusted.

Raven is the participatory planning layer of Southern California culture, and it is here.

Raven opens our Curator Guides to everyone. A Guide is a living plan for an LA moment, a date night, a food crawl, a perfect Saturday, built from real picks by someone who actually knows the city. With a little help from AI, anyone can build one.

Here is the whole thing, in three moves:

1. Subscribe to VIBES. It is free, and it is the key. Your subscription at curationsla.com/vibes unlocks the Guide Builder.
2. Build your Guide. Drop in the spots, shows, eats, and stays that make a night work. Add a note in your own words. Stuck? Ask Garrett's Mom, our in-product AI LA insider, in plain English.
3. Publish and share. Your Guide goes live with its own page. Keep it public, unlisted, or private, your call. When someone loves it and makes their own version, credit always travels back to you.

The strongest Guides earn a spot in the VIBES Newsletter, in front of our whole community.

One honest note on publishing: brand-new accounts may get a quick human review before their first Guides go live. Established VIBES subscribers publish right away. It is not a wall, it is a doorman — it keeps spam and bots out so the room stays real, and it is the same reason your Guide is worth trusting once it is up.
