Burger She Wrote, the wagyu smashburger brand that has built a loyal following among skaters and creatives, is opening its third and largest restaurant in Brentwood on Saturday, October 3. The new space seats about 25 guests and offers a mix of indoor, outdoor and counter seating that reflects a lived-in Los Angeles vibe with operating hours of Sun–Thurs: 11:30am – 10:00pm + Fri–Sat: 11:30am – 11:00pm.

The menu centers on the Oklahoma Smashburger, a nod to co-founder Don “Nuge” Nguyen’s home state, and upgrades the classic smash style with 100 % Snake River Farms American wagyu patties and slightly-sweet King’s Hawaiian buns. Alongside the Oklahoma, Classic and plant-based Impossible Smash Burgers, diners can order Fancy Fries, a Fancy Grilled Cheese and a rotating selection of house-made sauces.

The interior is a tribute to skate culture, with photographs by Atiba Jefferson, Ed Templeton and Estevan Oriol lining the walls, vintage tiles in kelly, forest green, deep blue, light beige and white, and a limited-edition clothing collaboration with Brixton that extends the brand’s streetwear aesthetic.

THE MENU

Menu highlights and ingredient philosophy

Burger She Wrote’s focus on thoughtful sourcing is evident in every bite. The beef patties are sourced from Snake River Farms, a producer of American wagyu known for its marbling and flavor. The buns, supplied by King’s Hawaiian, add a subtle sweetness that balances the richness of the wagyu.

Beyond the flagship Oklahoma Smashburger, the menu offers a Classic Smashburger, an Impossible plant-based option for flexitarian diners, and a Fancy Grilled Cheese that layers grilled onions, pickles and a tangy BSW sauce between toasted bread. The fries are seasoned simply with salt and freshly cracked black pepper, letting the potato’s natural flavor shine.

Sauce lovers will find a small but curated lineup: the signature BSW sauce, Ranch, Spicy Mayo and BBQ. Each is house-made and designed to complement the smashburger’s juicy profile without overwhelming it.

While the menu is all-day, the restaurant has not released specific pricing, hours beyond the opening event, or reservation details, leaving those aspects to be confirmed after the grand opening.

CURATING THE VIBES

Design, partners and community context

The Brentwood location expands the brand’s footprint along San Vicente Boulevard, joining a recent wave of casual eateries in the corridor. The space was designed by co-founder Mikayel Israyelyan, who continues Steven Arroyo’s practice of sourcing vintage elements, resulting in a timeless, lived-in aesthetic that feels both fresh and familiar.

Walls are adorned with iconic skate-culture photography from Atiba Jefferson, Ed Templeton and Estevan Oriol, reinforcing the brand’s roots in the skate scene. The tile pattern inspired a limited-edition clothing line with Brixton, extending the restaurant’s streetwear-driven merch into the local fashion market.

Partners include Don “Nuge” Nguyen, a professional skateboarding legend; the late restaurateur Steven Arroyo; and Muse Lifestyle Group’s Mikayel Israyelyan, who also backs Joe’s Pizza, Chi Dynasty, Romanov Restaurant & Lounge and Sound Nightclub, Creative Director Erik Bragg, longtime business partner Jennifer Searle and the Arroyo family.

The opening follows the brand’s original Fairfax District location and a May opening in Sherman Oaks on Ventura Boulevard. While plans for further expansion into Silver Lake and Manhattan Beach have been mentioned, the Brentwood spot marks the brand’s most ambitious footprint to date.

🤙 Curator’s Note

Burger She Wrote’s Brentwood debut brings premium wagyu smashburgers to a neighborhood that has seen a surge of casual dining concepts, but few with the skate-culture pedigree and vintage design sensibility of this brand. The limited seating and curated interior promise an intimate experience that could become a new hangout for locals who value both flavor and community vibe.
