Super Peach by David Chang has officially opened at Westfield Century City. The first Santa Ana wind event of 2025 is hitting LA and Ventura Counties today, bringing gusts of 35-50mph in corridors from Santa Clarita Valley to Point Mugu and temps climbing into the mid-80s to mid-90s. Heat advisories are live for coastal valleys, mountains, and beaches starting 10:00am today, while Red Flag Warnings cover the Eastern San Gabriel Mountains, Santa Susana Mountains, and southeastern Ventura valleys where humidities are dropping to 5-10 percent and critical fire weather conditions are expected. Winds should weaken Thursday, but temps stay above normal through the weekend with no rain in sight.
VENTURA COUNTY 🔥 SANTA ANA WINDS
The season's first Santa Ana event brings northeast gusts up to 45mph and humidity dropping as low as 5% across parts of Ventura County today through tomorrow at 6:00pm. The National Weather Service says the strongest winds hit late Tuesday night into tomorrow morning, while a separate heat advisory runs until 7:00pm tomorrow night for portions of Southern California.

CULVER CITY ✅ 846 UNITS APPROVED
The Culver City Planning Commission has approved the 6201 Residences, an 846-unit mixed-use project from RCB Equities and REDA that would replace a shuttered shopping center at 6201 Bristol Parkway with a six-to-eight-story wrap-style apartment complex. The roughly six-acre development would include 11,406 square feet of ground-floor retail, parking for more than 1,200 vehicles, and 36 units set aside at very low-income levels in exchange for density bonus incentives. Construction is slated to start in 2026.
HOUSING PERMITS 🏡 CLIMB 60%
LA permitted 2,557 new residential units from July through September, up from 1,816 in Q2 and a roughly 60 percent improvement over the same period in 2024, partly driven by Palisades Fire rebuilds moving through the pipeline. Still, the citywide total of 5,697 units permitted in 2025 marks an 11 percent drop from this point last year, and falls far short of the 13,000+ units LA commonly approved annually between 2015 and 2022.

GOTHAM AWARDS 🏆 ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER

CHARGERS ⚡ TRADE PREDICTION
The Chargers lost Najee Harris to a torn Achilles and Omarion Hampton to a high ankle sprain, leaving Kimani Vidal as the lone healthy starter in a brutal AFC West race. The Sporting News projects the Chargers could poach Breece Hall from the 1-7 Jets, who need draft capital and face losing Hall to free agency in 2026 anyway. Hall's racked up 581 rushing yards despite playing on one of the league's worst offenses, and pairing him with Hampton once he's back would give the Bolts one of the nastiest one-two punches in football.
