Sandough just landed at 7276 Melrose Ave in the Fairfax corridor and it's already picking up TikTok buzz for a dead-simple concept: 48-hour slow-fermented pizza dough folded around Italian fillings like prosciutto, burrata, mortadella and wild arugula, then oven-fired until crispy outside and pillowy inside. Early reviewers are calling out the Porchetta and the Straccetti (skirt steak with caramelized onions and balsamic, $23) as the ones to order. Open daily with counter service, dine-in booths and delivery on Postmates and DoorDash.

Perse soft-opened this week at 11677 San Vicente Blvd in Brentwood, bringing a Persian fine-dining concept to two combined former office suites on the third floor. The menu is a love letter to Persian culinary heritage with a fine-dining spine: A5 Wagyu kabobs at market price, $74 saffron lamb chops, butter-poached lobster with a caviar supplement, and a Tehranmisu dessert that's exactly what it sounds like. They hold a full liquor license with a cocktail program built around pomegranate, saffron and sekanjebin. Reservations are live on Toast.

Architecture firm OfficeUntitled has unveiled fresh renderings for a recently revived plan for a mixed-use high-rise on West Hollywood's Sunset Strip. The project by the Charles Company at 9034 Sunset Boulevard calls for a 24-story, approximately 378,000-square-foot development featuring 198 residential units, 9,250 square feet of offices, restaurant and retail space, and subterranean parking for 181 vehicles. 35 of the apartments would be restricted affordable units. The tower's undulating facade was inspired by the creative history of Sunset Boulevard and the spirit of nearby landmarks like the Roxy Theatre and the Shamrock Social Club.
