<p><br>The Staff Accountant will be a key member of the Accounting Team, supporting the monthly<br>close process through journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and general ledger<br>maintenance across various areas of the business. We are looking for an individual who can<br>create efficiencies and work independently, with a strong understanding of accounting<br>principles.</p>
<p><strong>Core Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>As a key contributor to the monthly close process, you will:<br>β Prepare and post journal entries across assigned areas of the general ledger, including<br>accruals, reclassifications, and recurring entries.<br>β Own monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, including bank,<br>intercompany, prepaids, and other accounts as needed. Investigate and resolve<br>reconciling items timely.<br>β Analyze general ledger accounts to identify and record necessary accruals, adjustments,<br>and reclassifications.<br>β Support payroll-related accounting, including reconciliation of benefits allocations,<br>workers compensation accruals, PTO liabilities, and other non-compensation payroll<br>entries.<br>β Collaborate with the management team to ensure timely completion of tasks aligned with<br>weekly and period-end close schedules.<br>β Assist with financial statement inquiries at both the store and corporate levels.<br>β Compile schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audit<br>requests.<br>β Take on additional process ownership as the team evolves, with potential exposure to<br>areas such as lease accounting, fixed assets, or other GL functions.<br>β Contribute to special projects, ad hoc analyses, and reporting initiatives in collaboration<br>with the management team.</p>
<p><strong>Skills Required</strong></p>
<p>β Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance.<br>β CPA or CPA track is not required but is a plus.<br>β Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, with the ability to<br>quickly adapt to new software programs.</p>
<p>β Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex<br>information clearly and effectively.<br>β Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.<br>β Thrives in a collaborative team environment, assisting colleagues in troubleshooting<br>issues and overcoming challenges.<br>β Willingness to dedicate the hours required to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-<br>driven profession.<br>β Candidates must be available to work onsite in the Los Angeles office at least four days<br>per week.</p>
<p><strong>Experience Desired</strong></p>
<p>β 2β3 years of accounting experience, preferably with multi-unit industries.<br>β Minimum 1 year of experience with a heavy focus on general ledger accounting.<br>β Experience with Oracle Fusion or other large ERP systems preferred.<br>β Prior experience with multi-entity or multi-location accounting a plus.<br>β Prior experience with financial reporting a plus.<br>β Interest or experience in leveraging AI, automation, or other tools to drive process<br>improvements is a plus.</p>
